God it’s such a funny experience rereading BL from my time in high school thinking these are the best things I’ve ever read and now all im thinking are “Jesus that’s a huge red flag” or “wtf that’s not romantic at all??” Thankfully not all are terrible and I still actually enjoy them but the others are definitely questionable (￣∇￣")
I dropped out of highschool at 17 and actually that happened to be around the time I discovered yaoi which was about 12-11 years ago. I started collecting and then moved countries with a whole shelf of yaoi which I organised from 2000s-2026. I picked one of my older yaois to read yesterday and good lord it was definitely more questionable but I'm not willing to let it go lol. I love my collection no matter how much questionable shit is in them- its mainly in the older ones anyway. I'm not picky about what I read about anyway .
