I have noticed a pattern, with the bl manhwas that I have been reading this days. Cause what the fuck is going on right now, why is it all fucking? Rape? What? Genuinely where is the plot now? Why are they acting like they're a bunch of teenagers, having their first experience in sex? Bruh? COMMUNICATE? POV of each characters? CONSENT? A GOOD PLOT? WHERE IS IT??!!! AND AUTHORS BE ALWAYS IN HIATUS, GOSH CHINESE AUTHORS DON'T EVEN TAKE A BREAK UNLESS THEY GOT ARRESTED (HYPERBOLE)
Guess the real question is how long you've been reading this stuff, and what genres and titles you go for. Bc there are HEAPs of vanilla or "safe" stories.
But if you pick up a title with dark themes ... You're going to get dark themes.

Romance genres (het, BL, GL, whatever) in general are so overrated, and tbh they all fucking suck these days. It's like the only people who're published authors nowadays are all virgins whose ideas of romance come from shitty BookTook fanfics, no one knows how to write a realistic and loving relationship to save their fricking lives. 1 reply
