People who self insertthemselves in certain characters
There is a question that I wanna ask.
I hope that i don't sound rude but since i have not experienced it I might offend some people. So for that i would like to apologize in advance.
I see a lot of people self inserting themselves in a story mostly as the mc but I have never found it thrilling or exciting. I have never thought myself as that person so I don't really get why people self insertthemselves in a certain character. There are also many isekai animes ( i don't really read that many isekai mangas) where the mc is just supposed to be a self insertfor some people.
There are also some people that get upset when the main character doesn't appeal to themselves but i don't really get why people act that way.
I genuinely don't understand it i just saw a tweet if a white woman refusing to read a book with a black female mc because she couldn't relate or something...I've been watching and reading romance with white ppl and I've never had any issues, i think self inserting and writing for ppl to self insertinto ruins the story reply
It's more on that they want to imagine a life that they don't have... It's a way to escape reality. For me it's like I want to be part of that world. Escape from the hustles of life and enjoy what's it like in a different world. This is why, as a person who like self insertstories... reply
I can't even imagine inserting myself into a story cuz I know the choices I'd make would be very different from the character's. I always read thinking like I'm watching the scene unfold in front of me, like this image

It does make a lot of sense. I m just thinking how u r able to think of such a question. Very interesting... personally i won't care if they do this or not. And if i think about it i sometimes imagine what would I have done differently in the situations mc is in. Ya then based on it i would say if the mc made a better decision or not. I can't relate to any characters I have read. I read for enjoyment not to insertmy self so deep that I can't get out of it. Also how can people relate to characters? Mcs are super nice,kind,hardworking, ambitious and some mcs are kinda self-centered,don’t give a gaf type. I don’t relate to any of them,yeah sometimes having characteristics commo...... reply
