My sister is going through a bad divorce right now, and I can say with certainty the greatest perk of all is being your own person. Being independent, making decisions by yourself and for yourself. I think this is more of an issue when you live alone and have no hobbies to keep you busy. I live with my family and have other family come visit often. I don't really get lonely with them around, even if everyone has a SO. Not to mention my 5 cats and 2 dogs. Like other people have said, I just don't think about it. It's not a priority in my life.......   reply
