Actually, just last month I lost my voice for about 3 to 4 days because I was sick. I had to improvise my own version of "sign language" and had to always have a little notebook and pen to communicate with others. Well, I tried keeping a Journal when I was younger... But I'd get extremely annoyed/pissed off when my snooping mother would read it, and laugh. Since then, I have a Diary app on my phone, with multiple locks so only I can go in it...
