I think people read stories that are intriguing or interesting to them. It is a personal experience - so are the perspectives of others, which are equally complex. I don’t fully agree that all negative judgements, whether or not they are “shallow”, are misogynistic in nature

Enma from Jigoku Shoujo. I used to watch the anime on Animax ways back then (feel so old now lol). I don’t want to spoil too much in case someone wants to check it out. Enma is the main character but in many humans’ eyes, she’s their ultimate villain... Enma definitely doesn’t deserve all their hatred.. I was very sad..
