Slice of life appreciation is music to my ears, my top genres are slice of life, comedy and shounen.
Although I have my personal complaints about comedy and shounen, slice of life has really never done me wrong before and like you said I find slice of life bittersweet which is why I'm so fond of it,

Never heard of this trope only ever saw the opposite (straight to gay) atp I feel like these types of tropes usually annoy me either way but in the end of the day just make bro bi, it's that simple.
