I think it's because the readers don't have the attachment nor any care and thought of what the victims or side characters are feeling because their story ends right there, while a pedo/rapist would let their victims live and we sometimes see how pitiful they are and (kinda) understand how they feel so readers get attached. Not a gamer but a fan since 2020 and if you wanted to start playing dmc chronologically, it should be 3,1,4,5 and just don’t bother with 2 cause it’s sucks despite it having my fav Dante design.
