both can be enjoyable depending on how it's executed. Kind of like how you'd have a good storyline but the major factor in making readers stay is the characters and vice-versa.
The latter is more appealing because you get to see and experience the main character's zero-to-hero journey, while the former can come off as mediocre and diluted marketab......
