Okay before i start, idk anything abt the teachings of Islam or about muslims,i'm an atheist but I still think it's nice to know one or two things about different religions to just think about.

i also hate how in many shows unless the parents cheat, neglect ther kid and physically abuse them they're not problematic enough for the child to leave them. Like haven't any of these people heard of mental abuse and manipulation? Why is the child expected to forgive their parents for alot of bullshit things they do? This is heavy on Asian shows.
Oh and don't get me started on how normalized beating up your kid is, even in Asian stereotypes. I never found it funny how hitting your kid with a belt is supposed to make you laugh and how in so many shows the parent literally beats up the kid for dating someone or for some absurd reason.....
Conditional love is so normalized, like you could have not given birth to me in the first place if you wanted me to do what you want me to do in MY future to be deemed useful and "worthy" of your love.

Did you ever succeed in fixing the relationship with your parents? Succeed in living away from them in another country/state?
I discussed this with an older friend of mine and she has parents like these, she moved to a different state but she was thankful or more relieved that because her parents were neglectful and never supportive she learned to manage time and work on her own so it's been an advantage for her. I plan on moving away as well but I don't know if I'll be thankful to my parents. What about you?

Why is it that the ugly person (they say ugly but they just don't have the "perfect" facial features of a renaissance painting) is always the villain in a story?
