My first anime was one of these: Tiger Mask, Kaiketsu Zorro, Tosho Daimos, Yattaman or Captain Tsubasa. They were aired at the same time plus I was about 3 y.o., so I don't really remember which one was my first (I think it was Tiger Mask, though; it's the first TV show I can recall).
And my first manga was probably Shaman King.

I don't. I think that every person is a separated and independent entity and there's no other "half of the apple". Call me a sceptic, but I also don't believe love is some mystical force that determines our lives. To me it's based on attraction and free will.
However, I like the notion of soulmates in literature.

I really like this pairing. Even more if the uke is the one to seduce the seme xD
I have a whole list of recs, so... http://www.mangago.me/home/mangalist/37426/
I'd recommend Sumanai!! Masumi-kun, I love it ^^ And Ano Kado Wo Magatta Tokoro, it's very touching.

Dragon Ball. I'll never understand why it was such a hit. It's not that I hate it, I just couldn't get into it, bc it's so damn boring (to me) -__-
And I really like shounen anime, fighting etc., so it's not the matter of genre.
When I was a kid I also disliked Sailor Moon. For real. But I quite like it now, so it doesn't count ^^
