If it fits the plot and is portrayed well, as in realistic, I don't mind it. The problem is, that it is one of the most overused plot fillers and to be honest it does get boring after reading the 100th manga including the rape scenario. I think being an Otaku has nothing to do with ONLY watching anime. As an Otaku you can like so much more than just that, like games and stuff. The plot has to be fairly good, but the art shouldn't be lacking too much. If the balance between plot and smut is good, then I like it. What I don't like as much is rape, because it's become boring since it happens so often. I hate boring or repeatedly used plot. Oh and even though I hate children, I really like them in Yaoi for some reason.   reply

A character I absolutely can't stand is Mitsumune from Mayoiga. Like, I don't think I've ever seen a more useless protagonist. ╮(￣▽￣)╭ Same with Mirai Nikki. Or Parasite, that guy was pretty useless for almost all of the anime.   1 reply

I have to say I prefer Yaoi, since it interests me more. As a bi girl I have dated other girls before. Maybe it's because I'm familiar with lesbian sex that I find Yaoi much more mysterious and intriguing. On top of that I've always had a thing for androgynous men, wich you often see in Yaoi. I shaved my head just 2 months ago and to be honest it wasn't that big of a deal. I did it 'cause my hair was really damaged and now it's growing back healthily. I thought it wouldn't suit me but somehow it did and everyone liked it. I'd recommend doing it at least once in your life, since it's a really refreshing feeling.   reply

My first anime ever was Sailor Moon when I was about 4 years old. Forgot about that pretty soon tho and I also didn't really see it as an anime then. Later I started with Uraboku, not the most popular one but still a fave. My first manga was also Uraboku, because the anime made me wanna read it.   reply

Personally, I'm more bothered by the great amount of young teens reading adult content. The main problem is that 11 year olds can access adult content that's clearly not meant for them. Be it rape, gore, whatever, there should be stricter limitations to these things. I do admit, the plot of many good Yaoi gets ruined by the standard rape pattern, b......   reply

You're way too young! The content isn't appropriate for anyone younger than at least 16 and I would highly recommend you stickt to shounen-ai for a few years. This isn't a question of interest, by the way, what you're doing is technically illegal, sooo.   reply

Obviously, I cannot see rape as a good thing, BUT in fiction everything goes and it's art, so there's no right and wrong. It could be hot or erotic, if the story is told the right way. Just have to be careful to draw a bold line between fiction and reality. Nothing that applies to fiction has to apply to real life situations.   reply
