It really depends on the story for me, shounen I feel is better as manga, but I usually enjoy shoujo and the likes as manhwa/K-toons, as you said in your description I also feel like Korean romances have more respect for the characters they're writing about.

I read shoujo, which lead to yuri (girlfriend girlfriend) and then i swapped sides. never to return. (the green lesbians have my heart tho)
