Does anyone else wonder why in yaoi the uke and seme haven't seen each other in like 10 years (just to stick to the cliche) and when they see each other again it's as if nothing has changed or they wait for them all these years? It just seems so unrealistic and everytime I see that in a manga it kind of annoys me because seriously, TEN YEARS? That's a hell of a long time as if they could hang onto their memories only for such a long time.. Sometimes that just ruins it a little for me (of course sometime there are reasons as to why they couldn't see each other, but they often don't even make any effort in contacting them again)
Well yea anyway, I just wanna know if someone thinks that too or is it just me? btw sorry that it's so long, oops haha
Well I have seen a relationship like this, but they didn't go straight to loving each other right away. More like, they hadn't met each other for over fifteen years, and they both had their own family and of course got divorced, blah blah blah; but after they met again through old friends, they started to contact each other as friends at first, and then over time, their feeling for each other started to come back, and then they are together now. But the process is they met again and be friends first for a very long time like almost a year or so, then they get together.
Me too, I think it is so impossible to still have that feelings lingering inside them since they have been apart for 10 years.
In those 10 years, they've encounter different people and have different environment. That's one of the reason why people changed so I think it's hard to gather the same feelings that you have in the past since everything might changed.
I always thought that if it was me I couldn't wait that long and just give up and also ten years is nothing compared to this movie I watched the guy waited 20 years. 10 years then he saw her again then lost her (for various reasons) then another 10 they met and finally they finally got back together ╮(￣▽￣)╭
It mostly annoys me because they separated because of really dumb reasons (looking at you sekaiichi)
True, mostly they just didn't communicate and broke up because of that, it's so annoying. I just can't understand them, they would wait years instead of just taking some actions. I mean it must weigh them down. Ughh, just wish they would stop with that. 1-2 years is acceptable but everything beyond is just so .. naaah
I wouldn't say it is impossible. It may happen because they end things so abruptly, that's why they have that lingering feelings left. And mostly happens in their teens which gives so much impact in their memories.
Tho, for me, i can't even remember who was my first crush anymore (〜￣△￣)〜
