This was OK. I didn’t like the guy, the fact that everything was fixed because she got pregnant from a one night stand with him, and his persistence and pushing himself into her life. Especially when they initially re-met. Although I will say I like her. I get why she’s so independent and terrified of connections but there is something she said that I like. The whole marriage thing not being for her and her saying “ if I want a diamond I could buy it myself,” Or something like that was so good. I like her being independent, and why is it so bad that she has a full-time career that is a huge part of her life? He talks about that he didn’t see her for months so what was she supposed to do? Because she’s the woman she needs to take time off from her career to spend time with him when he also has a full-time career. He can’t spend time with her? Because he’s a man with a career he doesn’t need to make sacrifices just her? Which had me so frustrated because this is exactly what he meant. And him talking about having his appetites or whatever? I know he did not technically cheat on her because it was one week after they broken up and he never expected her to come back to his place, but the fact that he said he had appetites to begin with does not bode well for him not having cheated on her before. I haven’t read the book, and maybe he never cheated, maybe he did though. If he was so desperate because he didn’t see Hernandez, because she was working, they break up and a week later he’s sleeping with somebody else and he blames it on his supposed appetites then doesn’t that mean that he’s had these appetites the whole initial relationship so maybe he did step out? I can see her imagining that he did so her assuming cheating and him saying that probably doesn’t make it better even though he didn’t in this situation. I did not like him, I only liked his sister I did not like the rest of the family, I wish that these stories even though they’re supposed to end with a happy ending would have a different approach to a happy ending when no one ends up together they just end up on civil terms. Because this could’ve ended in civil terms where he learned a life lesson that maybe he should be a little less chauvinistic and she could learn to just relax and be a little bit more trusting so she can depend on the people around her? Like I said this was OK, I just did not like anyone else except the female lead and the male lead sister that we saw for like a second

It's a very wholesome story for me. The storyline was interesting, the story flow was superb and no rush ending. Of all of the Harlequin I read, this is the only one that I feel a complete story because of how the story flow. By the way, the story itself is a great read since it has realistic view on life and relationship being independent and all as well as compromising and being honest. One last thing to note is that this isn't like the other secret children then married for the sake of the baby cliche.
