Comments of Aku No Hana

Well,I never comment but I feel like I should in this one. Aku no Hana starts as a crazy black-mailing story that kept readers hooked concerning what will happen next between Nanako,Sawa and Takao. I read every page euphoric to know more about the adventures of these three middle-school kids. I could simpathize with every character: Nakamura's feelings, Kasuga's desire to know more about the world and even Saeki's strange attraction to Kasuga. Everything in the story went smoothly for about the first 30 chapters. We see Takao's evolution from somehow a conceited student who thought he was smarter than the others for reading "The Flowers of Evil" to a crazy pervert who will do everything to achieve Sawa's dream. Furthermore, we also see how his strange although fascinating attraction to Nakamura affects Nanako who demands attention from the wrong guy.

After the suicidal attempt, everything gets... boring. Kasuga has no will to live,he just exists. Nanako finds a boyfriend phisically similar to Takao,and Sawa is not longer herself,as she has abandoned her dream and lives with her mother,helping at their family restaurant. Later on, Kasuga falls in love with Toshiwa an aspiring writer and they travel together to meet Nakamura after almost three years.
In conclusion, although amazing at first, the manga itself looses its spark after ch 30. This is just my humble opinion,you are free to read it and interpret it as you like. If you like the author,I recommend Chi no Wadachi. I read the 75 chapters at once because of how good it was. Thank you for reading until here :).

honestly, i've never read anything like this before. it left me thinking after reading it (which is a feeling i love) and I certainly think that someone should take the time to read it. I recommend reading it in one day if you can, so that you can fully immerse yourself in the story.

The anime ending song is freakkky. every time I listen I come to like it more

It didn’t make sense but it did somehow. Like nakamara just wanted to live. Nakamara just wanted to not be alone. But in the end she was alone and content at the least. I liked this manga. Some people say it’s an incoherent mess but if u say that I’ll praise u by saying ur relatively mentally stable. Because though it didn’t make sense it actually feels like it was the perfect manga. Sick perverted and twisted in the beginning but for reasons not explainable but faintly understood. Only later for there to be a healing and growth arc when the tone of the manga honestly had me thinking that wasn’t possible

This really makes you think of wtf you are doing with your life, I have been struggling a lot with thinking about my future and reading this I realized that I never wanted to be the main character, a lot of choices I’ve taken are to avoid his path, I would hate to just follow somone else’s path and dreams even if their smile looks bright will their smile be what give me a future will it?. Nakamura on the other hand is like a dream person , she seems so ethereal so not real and extremely real at the same time, like I would love to be like her in theory but at the same time she is the only one that does not get to fit in society like the others, she doesn’t get to have a “full” life or well what I think is a full life. She ended up staying in a place similar to the place where she was at before where the mountains now itythe sea, but the thing was not that she was there in that place but her being alive itself made her feel out of place. The beginning was not that good but this manga became really great after their relationship was really intense and they had mutual destructive feelings,i feel like even if the trikes to move on this will always be inside them , the sexual assault really bothered me, i feel like I relate to both of the main characters in different parts of my personality and what I want , or well that’s what I say because I don’t want to think I will just end up alone like nakamura

one of the best mangas ever

The beginning of the manga was quite good, especially when the male lead and his blackmailer become more and more crazy, doing more heinous things to break away from the teenage angst of boredom. I think on some levels, that's relatable to everyone who has gone through teenage years. But it quickly goes downhill when the male lead is separated from his friends and classmates when he moved to another town. The ending falls flat and leaves readers wanting something more. The first half rode a huge wave of crazy and then went splat on the floor, that's the feeling I had when I read this. It also tries too hard to be deep and it lost me sometimes in its fake philosophical tones. Art is pretty good and matches the theme of the manga.
