when i saw this was the same author as pearl boy i knew it was going to be good. and the art??? omg chefs kiss i had to screenshots so many panels because of how beautiful the art is. it’s going into my favorites.
now for the story. sungho is a student that has severe headaches, after being recommended to this theatre by his friend he walks into an unexpected place. he meets duk-gwang and realizes his headaches go away when he kisses him, and they have sex. just when they are starting to fall for each other yoon a sunbae comes along and sungho falls for him thinking its love when its actually fear. come to find out that yoon is a psycho from guk’s past. when he is a murderer and tries to blame it on guk. guk runs away to an island to get away from sungho and his friends but sungho looks for him and almost gets graped in the process. he makes it to the island but his father sent a hitman to come and bring him back. after a painful conversation he leaves the island and disappears for 8 years, getting into an arranged marriage that his father wants. on the day of the wedding he sets up so the bride runs away to NY and sungho finds guk to be with him in the end.
i had a feeling that yoon guy Was suspicious from the start. im going to give it a 9/10 because there were some scenes that i didnt fully agree with at the start. but at the end it was a 100/10. he deserved more than not being punished for a being a murderer, and secondly, putting a wedge between him and guk. why is he not in jail???
the father deserves more than a nasty phone call with all the hate he has given his son. im so proud of him sticking up for himself toward the end and finally leaving to be with his man. and I’m so glad that sungho made it so the bride could run away and finally be with her Peace.
also the time was amazing and I feel like the art got better throughout the story. I’m also getting an tattoo on his neck but on my arm or something because OMG.
storyline: set in the 80s, lee sungho is a pharmacy straight A student who lives under his father’s pressure to be the best in everything he does. he gets frequent headaches that seem to only go away when he gets involved with shim dukgwang, a poster artist for a movie theater that also acts as an undercover meeting spot for gay men, away from the their homophobic society’s eyes
reaction: damn this had layers!!! it could’ve been a 5 star story for me (the time skip really added an extra depth to the angst here) but the side story was a bit too questionable for my morals, so 4 stars it is!
The character is idk 7/10 but the most i feel uncompleted is the murderer case and the uke father still forcing him to get married.i hope i can read more chapter about it,then maybe I would feel the ending was completed not like this hanging.
Hated MC, hated his father and the goddamn psycho who gets off scot-free at the end.BUT top was great, and theatre fam absolutely 10/10 would like to be adopted pls
