The story for this one is fine, neither of the leads are standout, but the mom is insane. They act like she's redeemed at the end for suddenly deciding she does actually care about Kei when she's completely neglected him and actively verbally abused him this entire time. They really needed to spend more time on her character if they wanted to go for the happy family ending.

The pacing was a little wonky to be honest. For once, I wanted the drama to be more dramatic, and wanted the conflict to last longer. The climax felt a little underwhelming. I wish the mom had beaten him up, or reacted worse. It feels strange she calmed so fast considering how much they were building it up.

On the other hand, the art was BEAUTIFUL. I aspire to have proportions and such satisfying crunchy lineart. Did you see their face shaped and face proportions??? Perfection. Perfection in its imperfection, too. I also didn’t hate the story. It felt like the perfect scenario for dubious and incredibly angst story. I only wish they went extreme.
