Very interesting! Just so I can understand this, I'll probably reread. Plus the mystery is really heavy so it got me thinking pretty hard. I just wished the mc ended up with the doctor somehow. He doesn't seem to be a bad person around the mc. But I'm just the horror isn't that heavy either so I was able to enjoy this very interesting manga till the very end.
Flautist has terrifying nightmares pointing to a time she can't remember and has to turn to a psychologist for help, unleashing a series of events centered around her and her music mates/friends from college. Coupled with the discovery of a headless mummy, twisted, sordid story of love, avarice, and betrayal unfolds.
A well-articulated story, albeit far-fetched and too convenient in certain scenes. It is a crime drama driven by mysterious circumstances and volatile characters! The story reminded me of Agatha Christies crime mysteries but, as the story unfolds, you will be able to suspect those who are involved and predict a good guess of what happened! The first 3 chapters were the strongest, they set the pace very carefully and introduce a raw description of each character, but as we get closer to the truth, the story gets over dramatic as if there are supernatural powers that will punish every person involved no matter what happens! I wished for less dramatic , but more realistic turn of events. However, the ending scene was beyond beautiful !
So Matsuzaki is the conductor in the series with the help of the "assisstant inspector"(I forgot his name). He may be related to Takumi (could be a close friend wherein they used to play music together because matsuzaki said that he played an instrument before or Takumi's brother, and most likely had a very close relationship to the point that Takumi would tell him stories about Naomi. This must also be the reason why even though Naomi hates it when guys touch her but when it's matsuzaki, she doesn't hate it is because they really resemble each other)
As the series goes on,Matsuzaki starts falling for Naomi. Naomi really did love Takumi but I think she was able to move on when she said in the last chapter "but it's alright now" .It's very possible that she has fallen in love with two persons: 1st one is the deceased Takumi and the second one is Matsuzaki. The proof to this is the line she said in the last chapter saying "This place is filled with the spirits of Takumi and THAT person (pertaining to Matsuzaki who chose not to reveal his real name to her until the very end and sealed Naomi's memories of him deep inside her)
When the assisstant inspector asked her "the cherry blossoms are beautiful aren't they?",Naomi's reply "they really are very beautiful" most likely pertain not literally the cherry blossoms but she meant the beautiful but short-lived moments she had with the persons she loved (Takumi and Matsuzaki).
At the last panel of chapter 12 page 95,showing Naomi smile with tears in her eyes and the cherry blossoms falling and the last line "I'm sure it'll get warmer from now on" may mean that she has accepted the various things that happened and is ready to move on from everything.
This story is really very beautiful and sad at the same time!!! but to keep my positive feels to it,I'd like to think that when Matsuzaki said his goodbye to her,he meant it as him being "matsuzaki",him using a fake name. I'd really like a oneshot epilogue, seeing as matsuzaki is a very active person even if it's behind the scenes,I'd like to see him and Naomi meet by accident and it will cause Naomi to fall in love with him again, even if she never remember their previous encounter. It would be very lovely if he reveals his real name to her in their second encounter~!!! XDDD
