I always find this kind of story heartwarming. I've ever lived in a dorm house before, so I know how it feels like to live with many people with different backgrounds. It takes time to get along (I needed more than a year to get along with the others in the dorm), but it can be actually really fun, especially when you have a landlady as caring as Harue-san! (▰˘◡˘▰)

Chika-san is actually as caring as his grandmother, so his reason to act cold in the beginning is actually regarding the future of the house, despite his wish to keep the house as it is. Of course he can't keep the cold act if he actually loves the house and never hates the tenants, right?

Well, it's my personal opinion, but I actually wish Nozomi-san was a woman, at least to give something different in that house. But it would probably become awkward if he was the only woman, not to mention with his face being that beautiful... ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

The idea of the story may not be new, but I actually like the development of the story. It's indeed weird that all of the tenants never really thinks of trying to find a new place to live, but that's probably because they've thought the place as their own home, so the idea of finding a new place somehow always slips their minds! Kindly move out within 6 months." Masachika Fujimaki, the new apartment manager, makes this sudden declaration to the tenants of Wisteria Manor. Having lived there for so long without incident, â??shockâ? doesn't begin to describe how the tenants feel. To top it all off, the cool and always aloof Masachika turns out to be (of all things) gay. Though heâ??d always thought himself to be straight, tenant Kei Kuraya finds himself attracted to Masachika. Discover the heart-warming story of men from all walks of life living happily together.

Masachika Fujimaki(26), the new apartment manager & previous dead landlady's grandson, suddenly told the tenants of Wisteria Manor to move out within 6 months... Having lived there for so long without incident, the tenants are restless about this ..Moreover Kei Kuraya(23) found out that his new landlord is gay but he seems to get closer to him..

A story about a boarding house, focusing mostly on one character, a university student. He and his fellow lodgers are suddenly faced with six month's notice that they need to find other accommodations when their grandmotherly landlady suddenly passes and her handsome adult grandson takes over the property. The student initially resents the young man, until the sudden revelation that he is gay and his persistent kindness makes him reassess his assumptions.

As I have said often before, I have a special weakness for boarding house settings, and this one hits all of my buttons. It is a lovely story about collective living, focusing on the environment created by the found family of misfits who live and love the old house.

The romance too, while imperfect, does a slightly better job of addressing the fact that one of the characters initially thinks that he is straight (thankfully while there are some BL cliches, neither character conforms to uke/seme stereotypes). The relationship has a beautiful slow build as well. I recommend this story if you want a leisurely paced but comforting read with a nice family atmosphere and a bit of maturity.
**CW**
Warnings for the gay character having sex with the straight character while he is very drunk. There is also a trans character who actually is treated fairly well in the story, but, from the perspective of someone who is culturally American, definitely there are some missteps: it is vaguely suggested that the trans character ought to have been more open about it (it's only one remark, but there the implication that she "deceived" another character); she comes out by saying "I am a man" when it is clear that she is trans and not just crossdressing, &c. Not saying if it is good or bad, since Japan has a different cultural context. Nevertheless, I must say from my perspective it is one of the best portrayals of a trans person in BL I've seen, even if she is mostly a background character and not the focus of the story. Make of that what you will.
