This was well written manga, the poems, the dialogues, and the psychology of it, such an eloquent manga artist! The art is old but beautiful!

As winter draws to a close, German boarding school student Thomas Werner dies one morning. He leaves behind a single letter addressed to his fellow student Juli that reads "Here is my love. Enter the world of a boy's boarding school in Germany where all will be revealed about the suffering and redemption that comes with love. Even today, this early work of Hagio Moto is still regarded as a brilliant masterpiece.

Thomas no Shinzou (1974) - It was so beautifully written, so deep and full of all kinds of emotions. It's really a masterpiece! An essential, must-read classic!

The live-action "Summer Vacation 1999" (1988) is loosely based on Thomas no Shinzou - Note: A female cast was used to play the boys in the film, which is also very different from the original story anyway.
