It was interesting and a really different plot from the usual HQ tropes, but I really couldn't get into the characters at all. First, the plotting of the ML and the old lady over him getting the FL. Second, even though the FL was something of a wishy-washy doormat, he was pretty much a stalker. The trope of "she's avoiding me completely because she really loves me" is waaaaay too close to the "no means yes" trash excuse of the rapist who swears he isn't. Finally, I really couldn't see any love or reason to be in love between the ML and FL. All they had (and all they talked about) was how compatible they were sexually. It's a pity, because the plot was really interesting and engaging aside from the things that turned me off.
It starts with BBV (Bed Before Vows), which is disappointing, but it takes a twist after that. It's a unique plot that has the heroine and hero reuniting to participate in a murder mystery that has an ulterior motive. We don't find out till nearly the end just how serious the hero is, and how he very deliberately wooed the heroine, ever respectful of her of feelings, until he'd opened her eyes and her heart. That part was enjoyable.
