Ignore the barrage of tags for now. It's school life with a fantasy element and a medical condition--and perhaps will turn into romance. It's shounen-y so far. Plot opening: Because he can't tell faces apart, he's been friendless. Bullies have harassed him (and his friend). He seems to have another power that makes him terrified of fighting (like if others hit him they are hurt). The set-up first chapter is very good, and I look forward to seeing how he works through these issues in the "Normal Life" club set up just for him and the girl who is...special. Looks promising.
So far, this seems like a thought-provoking, deeply emotional story with some refreshing humor to keep it fun along the way. I love how the art is drawn to fit the perception of the main character who suffers from a cognitive condition that makes him unable to recognize and distinguish human faces. There are a lot of manga out there that explore feelings of adolescents while having a medical, neurological, or psychiatric condition--but this is the first time that I've seen the artwork of the manga change according to whose point-of-view is being portrayed. That alone is brilliant enough to have my full, undivided attention for what's to come with this series! Thank you, mangaka-san and scanlators!
Fukatsu has a serious problem, all people's heads look like eggs to him so he can't differentiate them. One day he runs into a gal with normal human head! Is that a clue to heal his illness. //★// RAW - http://www.comico.jp/articleList.nhn?titleNo=19045
no way :o as a person with prosopagnosia im glad we have rep
first chapt : the egg part is probably completely fiction, but otherwise everything else, the fact that you can’t recognize somebody who changed a part that you use to recognize them is completely true. would barely be able to recognize my own mother if she shaved her hair and changed clothes.
Fukatsu Michitaka, a boy who just became a high school student, can't differentiate people at all because of his prosopagnosia (Face blindness). However one day he runs into a girl whose face looks completely different than the rest. So in order to cure his illness and accomplish his dream of becoming "normal," he starts to get close to her.
I enjoyed it quite a bit. I also like the fact that when you actually think longer about what the story actually tells you, it also has a deeper meaning.
