I didn't hate it . . . I just . . . Didn't like it.
The plot is super cute in concept; Itsuki is an avid listener of Juno, a radio DJ that he eventually grew a crush on, and eventually they have a chance encounter in a bookstore that marks the start of something special. I'm down for that, I think it's super cute, but this story has three main issues for me.
One: Itsuki and Juno meet basically right at the start of chapter one. We never see Itsuki crushing on some radio host, because by the time we read the story, Juno's not "just" a radio host. They've met, they're active participants in each other lives. I didn't like this because this meant we didn't really see why Itsuki liked him, we're just kind of told. I feel like it could've been really cute to see Itsuki listening to Juno and seeing what exactly it is about his personality and his words that struck Itsuki so deeply.
Two: as soon as they meet, Juno basically falls for Itsuki. The author tries to play it off as something slightly gradual, but it's not. He falls for him instantly and spends two or so chapters basically unsure about whether or not he should acknowledge his feelings. We didn't see him fall for Itsuki, which for a romance, is something I never like.
Three: the conflict near the end was just super fucking stupid. Juno rejects Itsuki because of . . . Well I'm not entirely sure why. I think it's because he didn't want it to affect his job, but it could also be some social fear about rejection and all that? Either way, I hated it. Juno rejects him and so they don't talk for two years. Like I just hated that.
Radio DJ (seme) x college student (uke) My rating: 7,5/10 REENCOUNTER, FANBOY, FLUFF, AGE GAP It's not finished (but we get near the end I guess) The only hobby of college student Sakurabashi Itsuki is listening to his favorite radio DJ, Yunokuchi Arata (AKA Juno). They cross paths at the bookstore one day and Itsuki boldly asks Juno to get coffee with him.
Erm, how should I say...this have very light and interesting plot but somehow, the way the story being executed are done very poorly, it feels like something are missing, so rather than cuteness n fluffiness it kinda frustrating tho...
