This is a dark psychological manga about sexual assault and rape. This is not meant to be a pleasant read, however, what it does well is show us the suffering the victim goes through, and how it taints their life and the family leading to depression and constant fear. We get a story that shows what happens when someone is feels that they are helpless and can't say anything partially because of social obligation, culture, and lack of access to help from society (hard to go to the police when a family member is the abuser on top of the fact both victim/abuser are male). I was surprised to get a realistic depiction of a rape victim in manga, and for that I do recommend this manga to anyone who is looking for something that is more for thinking about rather than enjoying. Keep in mind that Japan is not good with talking about mental health so this manga was very much a surprise.

Regarding the story line, the relationship of the victim and his love interest did seem to go fast. I expected their to be more tension in approaching sex after experiencing trauma. We will hopefully see if they are able to get back together and heal.

On that note, what will ultimately make this story good is if we get to see healing. This doesn't often seem to appear in manga, however, it would be great to see the victim cut all ties with his abuser, get his mother/father on his side (if not then cut ties with them as well), and go to therapy. It would also of course be nice if we see a healthy relationship develop that is handling the past trauma together in the end with the abuser out of the picture. There is a therapist character in this story so fingers crossed that he becomes more involved.

I chose to leave this review because one of the top reviews is victim blaming, and someone in the comments asked for a different perspective. This manga is not complete yet so I will not rate it. I believe that with this kind of story we must see how it resolves the story line first and if we see more character growth.

This was a very frustrating experience. If you enjoy angsty, twisted and psychological yaoi that will literally make you flip your table - here you go! But despite me not personally enjoying this as much as I liked, I appreciate the scanlators' ability and dedication to scanlating this manga for everyone that did enjoy it x

This is a good piece that doesn't romanticize rape and actually shows the effect it has to the victim. I can't see why the top two comments are condemning the manga for what it is; if it's not a comfortable read for you then just close the tab. This is still a splendidly written manga.

I think most of the criticism for this gem is coming from an immature readership. The ending is exquisite and inevitable. To quote Colonel Kurtz in 'Apocalypse Now', "the horror...the horror..." So well done! This enters my bests of all time list and is a future reread...

This story is a good portrayal of how a victim can fall trap into someone's web. Haruki was helpless, despite having Hanabusa as his friend, he thought of the repercussions him confessing would bring. And if you still haven't understood by now, he blames himself for killing his mother, and only Haruki knows of it and as he stated "the only one who can forgive him" that is why in the end, he chose to stay with his step brother. In no way does this glorify stockholm syndromez but shows how a helpless victim can become.

A man in his 20's is abused from his high school step brother. He is so sad and scare but he can refuse. But i think he is gone to feel in love for his coworker, well it seems like that. I think the story had potencial but i dont see any sparkles.... I read the update and i am sooo mad!!! How can that hapen??? He trust his stepbrother and gone raped again??? And the kid just apologize and cry and can be forgive??? I am soooo angry!!!

I was going against all logic that this might get better, but having looked at the raws, it doesn't seem like that's the case. This just gets more fucked up and I don't think I can deal with it anymore. I don't mind some twisted stories, but this one just pushed past my squick limit. Adding this so I'm reminded to not read this anymore when I get notifications that it's updated.
