one of the best. the angst, the past, the sacrifices made by lin che and elliot for each other is tearjerking bro i cannot (´;︵;`) the love between the two of them can move mountains, I just love them vv much, wishing for more happiness for them fr.
aww this was quite the sad story considering lin che’s bg and literally him not being able to catch a break like he lost an eye!! lowk such a bittersweet ending cause they’ll always kinda have to be on the run but i’m just gonna believe they encounter no issues. anyways this is the 4th manga i’ve read by this mangaka! like there’s one left then i’ll have read them all!! i acc rlly loved this one and all its angst. like i was actually never gonna end up reading this one iircc cause i read a comment that made it seem like the ending was sad and it scared me away lol but considering i wanted to read the other manga i havent read i thot hey maybe i’ll read this one first to get the sadness outta the way and now i think this is easily top 3 of this mangagka’s work but honestly as i’m thinking about it
Adults who knew each other as kids. Mc attends a party and meets a guy there he has an instant connection with, but they part. The next party, they meet again and go off to bone. Mc realizes this is his friend from childhood that he lost because he went to juvie because of circumstances completely out of mc's control. He's re-found him, and now they bone like crazy. The bf is involved in some shady mafia stuff though, so they go on the run to escape that and be together, but everything catches up with them. Bf goes to jail to turn everyone in and tries to cut ties with mc at the same time. Mc comes to meet him when he's released, and tells him he's not going anywhere. So this is a really complex story, with well drawn history for the two characters, who they were, and how they ended up the way they are now. The aft is great of course, and while the story is somewhat tragic, it's understandable. at least they're both alive at the end, and mc is persistent enough and has enough agency now as an adult to force the situation where they can be together, even if they're still somewhat in hiding. I really appreciate the more complex nature of this story but it's sad enough in a lot of ways that it'd be difficult to reread. still, a good, affecting story, with great art, and complex narrative.
