What makes this so unbearable to read is the main female character. Her type of personality irritates me. She can't see beneath the surface. Trapped in her delusional world about a perfect prince and an uncaring beast that cannot possibly be anything more than this. Just like the other girls in this world. Except in her case, the male characters are designed to fall in love with her.

Meh not bad indeed but really just another typical shoujo.. Pretty unoriginal.. :/

I hope this book up dates fast. I want to read more like this one.

Loooove this manga. Contrary to what some commenters have said I think Yu is actually a delightful compromise between the naive airhead a lot of shoujo manga female main characters are and the sassy take-no-shit MCs everyone seems to want. She makes mistakes and can be vulnerable but she also has a backbone and ideals she believes in (for example when she stands up for others who are being ignored or bullied) and what’s more, she had a reason for those ideals and a conviction behind them.

Kurosaki definitely starts out like a typical aloof rich male lead in a shoujo but the slow progression of the romance makes his development much more believable than other series with similar characters and tropes. He goes from hating her, to sadistically teasing and humiliating her, to being annoyed that he cares at all, to wondering why he’s so annoyed, to thinking maaaaybe he likes her, to finally admitting he does IN SIXTY CHAPTERS. It’s taken us this long for Kurosaki to admit she’s important to him and quite frankly I think his development and the timeline it follows is realistic.

Also just gotta say the friendship between Kurosaki and Shirakawa is so sweet. The loyalty and devotion to each other is tested with their love triangle with Yu but it’s clear that while both value their own wants, they can’t just ignore the way it would impact their other half. Between Kurosaki rejecting her initial request to date and Shirakawa agonizing and lamenting about inserting himself firmly as competition, I think it’s clear how deeply they care for each other and tbh it’s refreshing to see in a love triangle where so often the side relationships splinter and eventually break.

Yeah I love this series. I think it’s top notch for a high school shoujo romance and I really don’t want it to end.

That being said, I could’ve done without the amnesia storyline.

Omgggg mc lost her memories and she!!!! So good I can't explain how good it is...

I know this manga seems pretty cliche at the beginning and kinda annoying but the raws are at chapter 61 now and I can assure you it’s one of the best shojo ever (and I’ve read hundreds or even thousands). I read the online translation before and wasn’t really into it but I randomly found the raws and didn’t even realize it was the same manga but it was so freaking good. First the art becomes wayyyy prettier then everything in the story that happened before starts to make sense every detail was actually written for the plot and everything is calculated by the mangaka and she never omits or forgets these details. The characters’ back stories are revealed more and more and they’re all actually hiding deeper things inside (these things made them act the way they did at the beginning which is kinda annoying i know but it’s all for the sake of the plot). Anyway the story gets very very very good and i know it used to be one of the most popular shojo on Otakumole for that reason. All the people who read until chapter 60 say they absolutely love it now. Anyway if you find the raws you should really really give it a try.
