Accountant-turned-samurai Sawamura is having a difficult time being accepted by the other samurai. Many times, store owner Yasuke has rescued him and helped heal his wounds. Now Sawamura is face-to-face with death by uncovering possible embezzlement. Will Yasuke rescue him again? Will Yasuke be the one to teach Sawamura how to correctly wield his sword?
An historical oneshot about a young man who bought his way into being a samurai and is therefore shunned by those samurai born into the class. His only reprieve is found in an older man, the owner of a restaurant, who bandages his wound and offers him solace. It is a tightly paced, self-contained and likeable story - a rare samurai BL that doesn't end in romantic tragedy. While engaging throughout, it remains small in scope both with respect to the plot and character development, so it may not be the most memorable short, but it is worth reading. No rape/dubcon
