Today my step siblings brought up the issue about me watching yaoi and they were laughung saying that I watch pornography. I mean yeah yaoi is a kinda exotic and stuff but should it be considered as watching porn? As much as I tried to deny that it wasn't porn in my head I realized that it was not far from it. I tried to raise the point that in yaoi there is a story in it but at the same time I felt so exposed and I did not like it. How should I defend myself from criticism or how should I make myself not feel bad about reading it?

I know what you mean and I did try to accept it to them and said 'yes i do watch gay porn' but then it's annoying because they were busy laughing and making jokes like you search for porn to watch and you are dirty or that you are a sex master like seriously how annoying is that? The balance between the plot and sex scene doesnt matter. The explicitly shown sex in itself is porn.

Pretty sure yaoi is porn, just BL porn. That being said, nothing wrong with reading yaoi, no need to feel bad about it. Yaoi being porn doesn't mean it lacks a good plot nor should you be ashamed of reading it.

Well I am in it for both the plot and the sex. But them making it like I'm a porn addict who goes around looking for porn pissed me off. They made it look like I'm some dirty person. So i tried to explain how porn is different from yaoi but i don't think it got through to them.

it just so happens that not all Yaoi is centered around the sex. Some has fluff story with minimal/short/not so graphic erotic scenes (but the sex is still definitely there or atleast is heavily implied), while some has dem hot and steamy, get down and freaky sex (what I would consider porn).

Yeah that's the bright side, but then there is also the fact that Keisei and his son don't really have a good relationship, so if Mio were to die it kind of gives off the vibe that the two won't have a good relationship since the son thinks that his dad hates him due to the fact that he made his moms body weak and keisei doesn't seem like he really knows how to communicate which makes their relationship very fragile
