Much better than the Junji Ito version. Like by far. Loved this, hated Junji's

Based on the book 'No Longer Human' by japanese writer Dazai Osamu. Apparently it's very depressing but a good read, so I'll give it a shot.

Okkk this was dark and sad and everything but I JUST COULDNOT GET CONNECTED WITH IT...the plot nor the characters

I read this in 2020 but only finished in 2022. I'm not sure if I enjoyed this. Actually, no, I don't think I did. It's also no my kind of despair, I like to feel reality crumbling around me and utter hopelessness when I read psycholical stuff. But I also am pulled to the more philosophical and the more mundane aspects of this art. If you have the time to throw away, which you don't, but if you don't have the will to use it as you believe you should, then give this a read. It's just… there. Intensely yet faintly there.

I'm getting goosebumps, can't believe such a forlorn life as that exists-- it's all because of his upbringing and to think that after publishing this the original author dazai took his own life, that's so darn chilling.

This was one of the most beautiful and heart breaking stories I've ever read. I was already edging the breaking point and then he said the house keeper incidents and I'm still crying. I really want the physicals now even though it's so hard to find.

better than the junji ito version ngl. like ik its not a pretty topic and the artstyle reflects that but i cant handle body horror. it doesnt scare me it just makes me want to puke

this has been a depressing, uncomfortable yet realistic and captivating story roller coaster ride. tbh i dont even know what i should be feeling reading this and yet the mangaka even said he kept the ending different as the original went deeper into despair. im just like....i need a friend. someone. anyone to talk to after reading this. Yozo's life was really too much and the fact that this was an autobiographical story? bitch im going to cry in the corner for a sec...
