If u love angst then this is for u. Ngl everyone just seems so psycho here. Both mc & ml suffer from traumatic family. One was by betrayal, another by the death of their fave son. Mc was pressured into being someone she isn't. Trying her best to always excel for she is afraid of her mother abandoning her. However just a slight mistake, the mom would go haywire and start abusing her. Meanwhile ml's fam is distorted. The ml was often compared to by his genius bro. His bro was the light in everyone's life and when he died, his mom couldn't accept it and simply took the ml as his bro. Ml had to act like he was the older bro so her mom wouldnt get a seizure. The father is no good either. Keeps encouraging the son to act like the dead person for no reason. The cousin is way worse, cuz the dead person was his Idol & crush, he couldn't accept that the dead person was gone. He blamed the death on ml simply cuz he saw ml acting like the dead person. Ml couldnt take it anymore and ended up punching the window and leaving a scar on the cousin's face. The dead person may have been a genius but his personality towards his lil bro was too bad tho. He kept taking away the lil bro's toys, making sure no one befriends the lil bro and went so far as to claim that the lil bro was useless in the fam. Well, the fam was to blame too. How could a father just smash the toy he gave to ml, simply cuz the old bro was fighting for it. It was ml's toy and ml was still a kid back then. To call him greedy simply for him protecting what's his is insane. Back then all 3 of them(mc,ml, old bro) were acquainted w eachother but the mc preferred the ml over old bro cuz the old bro liked to lie and had a strange presence meanwhile mc was an innocent angel. One day ml found out that old bro has strange sensitive tendencies everytine it was nearing exam season, the old bro also liked to take pics of dead things as a hobby during those times, exactly like mc rn. Anyways, old bro died in a car accident after crossing the road near the bridge. Mc and ml had a misunderstanding cuz old bro got in their way and said ml hated mc. Mc said old bro lied and this further fueled some kind of insecurity inside the old bro. Before they knew it, the next day, old bro died in that accident.
Mc's life isnt that worse off either. The mc had helped a victim of bully. Ever sincez mc was regarded as her idol. The problem os that following the advice of the ml's cousin, the victim of bully decided to "break" mc since she cant hv the mc and she also kept begging mc to change back to how she was. That pretty cool doll she was. After getting caught red-handed of going out w ml, mc's mother decided to transfer mc to another school and even locked mc up. She also left that victim to take care of mc. In the end, mc tricked the victim and ran away from housel when her mom went on a business trip.
Afterwards, mc act got into a fight w the cousin again cuz he found out the cousin was the mastermind behind the ruin of mc. Then ml's mom suddenly recognised ml as who he is and got a seizure again. Ml was happy his mom recognised him finally but he got hurt cuz the mom didnt want him and kept searching for the dead person. Ml is missing til now and mc is searching him cuz mc finally rmbered they were childhood friends back then.
Update: Just read thr last 2 chaps. To wrao it up, ml's bro is rlly twisted. After monopolozing everyone on ml's side, he had the nerve to play victim and act as if he was the one getting neglected. I'd understand if ml amd mc dont rlly wanna get involved w him but ml's. Father and even that cousin of theirs rlly love him tho. So y the need to still feel like no one's on ur side when they're giving him lots of love. Not to mention, the ml's mother. Who gives preferential treatment only to the ml's bro. Srsly tho, that guy rlly was deranged. He even had the heart to commit suicide by running in front of a truck just cuz the ml said he hated the bro. I mean, who wouldnt? After all he did
