No fuck that ending because it actually just cements the slight feeling that I’ve experienced throughout this which is that they treat me like a child and not like a grown adult woman, her fiancé particularly, (I know we all remember the “fetch” scene with the cookie) and then to punish her for this situation, but not to punish the prince when he also agreed to have a wedding where they were not allowed to the only decision she made that he didn’t was going to save someone so like yeah he should’ve run after her. if Mimi had self respect and wasn’t in a situation where everyone convinced her she was evil for saving peoples lives. I get that they love how free spirited she is but the problem was that she was reckless, yeah it was great that she saved their lives but they do have a point when they say that as crown princess she has a responsibility and casually putting her life in danger is not the move, Renato understood this, because he is the crown prince, future leader of a country, in the grand scheme of things hes too important to just have run in to the fire to save mimi, there were already multiple times mimi had risked her life and despite telling her she cant be reckless, she still goes and be reckless anyways, shes stubborn. I get that locking her up might seem bad to yall but it did feel like it was the only choice left to make her understand her position. They also cant really blame the prince cuz they never could have known that fire would start. They werent convincing her that she was evil, they needed to make her understand that her life isn't something she can easily throw away, not when too many people care for her, not to mention her position as crown princess. Besides there were scenes where she gets told, don't be reckless, but she always says ill be fine, because im strong! Along those lines

And I think you’re misunderstanding the point that we’re all making which is you’re saying yes she needs to change to be in this position and the point is everyone’s making a girl change into a different person which completely defeats the point of pursuing Mimi as a fiancé cause that’s not who Mimi is she was trained to be the successor of a martial arts family,,, pick a different girl. Additionally, you don’t just teach someone a lesson by grounding them when they’re an adult and have their own rights as a human like it’s just a weird shitty thing to do to someone it’s not like they had no choice they had to convince her no they didn’t. And yes, they did try to convince her she was a heartless person by having everyone else take the fall for what was her choice just like when you’re in elementary school and everyone gets penalized because someone can’t shut up.
Im not saying she needs to change herself because mimi at her core is still her strong willed free spirited self. But thats no excuse to being reckless the way she is, personally a different approach to seeing their perspective mightve been better. The point was to make her see that her decisions have an effect not just on her close friends but to an entire country. She wasn't wrong in saving them, but as a future ruler of a nation, she needs to adjust and adapt. Mimi can still practice martial arts, do what she loves, and be herself, Renato love her just like that. but yes she'll need to step up because that was the responsibility she willing took when she decided to marry the prince
