She’s a high-born daughter from an ethnic majority who married the emperor of the country. He already had a wife, the queen, who is his first cousin and purebred noble from another country. He loves her a lot and wants her happiness but he needed the marriage with the mc to maintain control. his religion did not allow for polygamy but he used mc and their marriage as a political pawn to clear a path to the south and ensure that the ethnic majority stayed loyal to the empire and the government. As a part of this marriage, they spent three nights together as a formality. Mc was supposed to return home after three months but she became pregnant and gave birth to the first and only heir. This caused problems for the first queen as she was of the belief that mc’s blood was dirty (not inbred like her) and she felt very insecure about not being able to produce an heir so she started sending her cronies to harass the second queen. At first the king asked the second queen to give in to the first queen’s demand that the first queen be allowed to raise the heir to the thrown, but he realizes how dumb that was after mc points out that the first queen is racist and inbred. Basically the romance starts after the king and second queen express their intent to protect their son to each other. The first queen fakes her lady-in-waiting’s pregnancy to make her intentions clear that she was going to fight for the throne but because the pregnancy was a lie, everyone involved got killed by the king except the first queen (after her consulted the second queen about how he needed to hold her accountable for attempting to destabilize the country and she was like …dude. Didn’t you love her? You’re a psycho if you’re saying you’re alright with killing her. if you can do that to someone you grew up with…what will you do to me and my son if we disagree with you?”) so yeah that’s where it’s at

I'm really surprised that it doesn't have a higher rating. I like the pacing and art. The story is conveyed well despite the complex plot points. I really enjoyed it

This is. amazingly well written and coplex characters.i would have given it a 5 for the quality, but i hated the content.that king was shit and our MC deserves to value herself and leave that shit.i get why she couldn't, but if she had the choice. i hope she. Left that delusional fool. May those. Incestuous pricks all.be deformed.

It was good and intresting but not exactly the best. It was kinda messy and abrupt in some parts. Plus the translations were a bit rough but it's alright! Still thankful for it.
