The cover reminded me of Gauguin. Interesting setup: Photog loses an eye to lupus and yearns to return to the place where he discovered his love for the craft (i.e. A pretty island and a pretty man). Curious to see what comes next (but no, sorry, you don't ride a horse totally naked and without a saddle THAT WAY LIES CRUSHED TESTICLES AND PAIN).
The Polynesian guy looks sooo gorgeous among pure nature in that sacred island. The way they stay in harmony with nature is beautifully wonderful. *ღ¸¸.•✿⊱╮
I don't know how to say but that was amazing. I love art style, content and everything! First came for wild life yaoi, stayed for the story. It has so much emotions that I read it until 8am at morning. Wow. Read it and read again! Especially 'raiatea's meaning and zomu's left eye lost it's light so find Mani's distant sky eyes! Oof man you're really cool as Zomu said! I'll read mangaka's other works too for sure!
❂ [Baka-Updates] Suddenly stricken with lupus, a photographer loses sight in one eye. Faced with an uncertain prognosis, he feels an urgent need to revisit the South Pacific island that inspired his career. Can he convince the man he encountered there years ago, now a medical researcher in Southern California, to accompany him on his journey? > I really loved this story! Especially when they went back to the island together and when they finally made love immersed in the nature...it was truly beautiful and fascinating! Also, Mani's tribal tattoos looked so good on him! # Half-South-Pacific Half-French Uke
this was a very fulfilling read, i honest cannot put into words the disappoinment I felt after seeing comments that took this story in a very negative light. The story was very well thought out and was very refreshing. The art in this story is so good but we all knew that already. If you want a wonderful read then this story is for you.
Bro....how can this have such low rating..... this was really good what the fuck. I'm always cautious when a manga features an indigenous character because more often than not it comes off as fetishizing and racist (looking at you, Mother's Spirit). But in here, the author addressed such fetishizing and racist behavior towards the character, and we see how it impacted and changed him irrevocably as a person. I also love the art (those people saying that it's ugly are insane im telling you) and how fulfilling the story is considering the length of the book. Totally godsend will read again.
