I love how ran undergo a massive character development and I love how the wrote their characters, it is well written. If only they made outarou the same age with ran and hibi it would have been much bette, they looked good together,,, but I still Hibi is the only one for Ran. I just can't with the pedophilia
** Spoiler: I gave 5 stars only because of the cute enemies-to-lovers plot with Hibi and because she ended up with a kid her age. I definitely would have preferred it without the creepy pedo subplot, especially since the manga ended with the message: you have to properly grow up to become an adult. Important message, but at the same time they romanticized the whole Outarou-subplot until the very end (with those additional drawings about their wedding if he had survived). I liked that the author showed very clearly that she was still a child inside that adult body and that her brother was creeped out as much as the reader by the whole situation, but I had hoped to get that same reaction from Outarou himself as well once he knew that she was 10. But his last words showed that he knew all along about her true age and didn't care at all = huge red flag. Also bad parenting by her parents, letting her run around as an adult without giving her a stranger-danger lesson.
I wish there wasn’t pedophilia it was the best manga I’ve ever read except that. The ending the start everything was perfect. After reading this I feel like nothing will satisfy me as much as this series. I regret bbinge reading it a little :P
Spoiler! I cried when outarou died till the end lol
Meet the Urumas, a slightly dysfunctional family of four sorcerers. Mom, being the most powerful sorceress around, works away from home keeping the world safe. Dad picks up the slack and takes care of the family. Except when he's out, which is when the older brother Jin finds himself in the unenviable position of keeping tabs on his sister Ran. And Ran, the youngest, is a willful girl with too much power and too little wisdom. Let's take a look at Ran's everyday misadventures, shall we?
This is a masterpiece. Just hope that ran and hibi story is kind of long. Wanted to see them getting married and have kids. The only thing that made me uncomfortable is outarou. I mean you knowing ran is only 10 years old yet you still love her is so creepy and weird to me. Also the fact that she keeps touching, hugging, and attempting to kiss ran withouth her consent makes me not sad about his death.
It's a beautiful coming-of-age story that may or may not press your buttons the wrong way. A manga with an ending that couldn't have been more perfect.
