I just wanted to remind everyone that the scientist who created the theory of "alpha wolf" was just observing parent and children wolves which was why there seemed to be a hierarchy. The same scientist has been trying for the rest of his life to debunk this same theory.
Yup! I hope you don't mind I add on. The "alpha wolf" is from forcing different wolves who didn't know each other into a pack. The original person who coined the term did find out that the theory was based on misinformation and not on naturally formed wolf packs and has been trying for years to get people to stop using the debunked theory.
