The conclusion was unsatisfying, and from what we see this is basically unrequited relationship. For the poor guy's sake I hoped they'd just break up so he could find someone willing to commit to him. If this story was about growth etc the ending shouldn't have left the reader hanging. Really it's just a pitiful one-sided love, a person being feed with crumbs but unable to let go. It's not even bittersweet it's just bitter.
When a plot or a character has this low energy or sad vibe I often get so nervous, scared of a bad thing that seems to be just about to happen. Ch 3 was full of it and since I'm a masochist, I loved it. Then Ch 4 has this thing about the other guy's image burning in his eyes as he comes to reflect to his relationship. Was beautiful as also was the peace before the breaking point, even if things were not perfect before it I think the dialogues deserve a special mention. They limit to what's necessary, letting us and the other characters understand the rest This love is so complex. It's like they're always in different pages I low-key identify sometimes with black haired guy
Some of the comments here reach the level of the story in how well they analyse the plot
This was the first comic of the author and it's gooooold. I love the art huhu the style can easily make me emotional HAJSJS. ANW, so both mika and souji had a hard time believing in "love", so both were not able to express their throes of agony with each other. If the story of rintarou and sinta was making me have the idea of marrying someone, this story, on the other hand, made me retreat my thoughts somehow bc living together might be this stressful TT
STILL, there are different kind of relationships and dynamics so IT DEPENDS ON MY THRESHOLD!!
It just happens that mika and souji had a poor upbringing and find comfort from each other!!
