Probably not a re-read anytime soon but definitely a story that needs to be respected and read once. Had to think about the ending and the unsaid, lack of communication between the MC's. A deeper yaoi than most.
it's... honestly i'm very conflicted. nice art. great story pacing. most of them were castrated and brutally experimented on to 'find the cure for homosexuality'. this, while also remembering that gay people (who were easily identifiable by the pink triangle they were marked with) weren't necessarily freed by the allied forces when germany lost. they continued to be incarcerated because even the so-called saviors were heavily prejudiced against gay people and considered the laws against sodomy and gays to be fair. it was only around 1994 that these specific laws were repealed.

This is really BARA not yaoi and probably needs a tragedy tag, even though the whole WWII thing probably gives away the fact that it's not a happy story.
I wouldn't recommend this to everyone. It felt powerful to me. Sometimes in yaoi homesexuality is romanticized... I forget sometimes that.. at one point they were excruciated and tortured because of their sexuality. And because of that they were.. afraid to be true to their sexuality. The Nazi soldier. He was obviously at least infatuated with the man, but he couldn't.. just ugh.
