Art style is chef’s kiss and plot is kinda interesting, but the MC is unbearable. Dropped it at 22 chapters. For someone who is trying to repent for causing the death of approximately 50,000 innocent citizens, she sure as heck aint doing enough repenting. Sure you can say “she has daddy issues! He literally neglected her and caused her so much pain! Her mom’s death is on her shoulders!” Okay, and? That doesn’t justify anything she did. It sure as HELL doesn’t justify causing the death of approximately 50,000 people.

Her criticizing her brother for being kind is ALSO unbearable. Like she has any RIGHT to criticize just about ANYONE for not being enough to be emperor when SHE SET THE RECORD FOR WORST EMPRESS IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND. Her brother is a KID. She expects him to be perfect immediately? To criticize him like that and hate him for being “kind” when her whole problem is not being kind enough to heal her people’s diseases in her past life? Also, her loving Theo, sureee. But imagine if she was a dude. We all hated the emperor from “Abandoned Empress” because he killed her and her father. SHE KILLED HIM(technically because she forced him to live in a cage) AND HIS ONE TRUE LOVE. He didn’t deserve to live the life he lived. Forced to marry a person who killed her brother, and killed the people of the empire, not to mention kill the love of his life. He was a bird in a cage. You would think it would be easier for her to let him go the second life because Theo’s a kid right now and she has the mind of an adult, not to mention she knows what went down so you’d think she’d be selfless enough to actually repent and let him go but nooooo! Mc is pulling a cougar on us and still badump-badumping on a kid. Aight.

That said, I still cried for her situation, but she needs therapy. Heal your daddy issues gurl don’t be killing 50,000 people and hating on a kid for not being a perfect emperor when you were worse as an adult. I’ve decided to drop it at 22 chapters. I don’t want to waste any more time than I have already. I cried for her but none of her actions are justified by any of her traumas. I know exactly how it feels to be thrown away by your own father and blatantly reject you, because I have. But this doesn’t mean I’ll go killing a bunch of people. I truly sympathized with her, but her “repentance” is not enough. It seemed to me like she only regretted what she did because instead of gaining love and power, the people turned on her instead. She didn’t gain anything, so she “repented”

I’m all for flawed MCs, but this is just ridiculous. The root of it all is that DARNED excuse of a “father” of hers, but that doesn’t mean she’s not heavily at fault too. If her being a “tyrant” was just her killing her father and then the people that got in her way, sureee! Applause for her! Even if we stick with this first life, as long as she truly repents because she felt HORRIBLE for the citizens she killed, and actually do a good job repenting and not being a bitch about it, I would’ve loved this. This is good, definitely. Especially the way it was written, but it’s not for everyone. Especially not for someone like me who’s trying to unwind. I got stressed instead.
