A talented young Japanese chef deals with working for the father of the only chef who always gets the best of him. But what are they going to do as this rivalry develops into something else?

An enjoyable old style manga about 2 highly competitive chefs and their respective careers. I didn’t really feel any good connection for them to fall in love at first but as the story progressed spanning years you could see that they were a good fit. The oneshot in the middle was a serious flop for me.

Deux jeunes cuisiniers "rivaux" : l'un d'inspiration cuisine japonaise traditionnelle et l'autre cuisine française (fils d'un grand cuisinier traditionnel japonais).

I liked this a whole lot ! The art is beautiful, and the story/plot is interesting and entertaining. Loved the age progression and maturity of the characters and the years went by. Great read !

It's a good story I enjoyed it well. The story covers a span of 7 1/2 - 8 1/2 years between the begining of ch1 to the end of ch9. Ch4.5 is a one shot about 2 friends in high school, they meet years later under unusual circumstances. Both guys like each other but never got together. It was also a good story which would do nicely with an extra.

Contrived drama over food and pride. Just kinda dumb.

yae, culinary prodigy who seems to have it all, sheds it all for a new start in france, and yasaka, bright, ebullient, willful, can't comprehend why someone would ever abandon their birthright, their legacy. moths to the flame of their growing attraction even as they clash, they weather broken dishes, distance, and miscommunication. almost a bildungsroman following their respective careers, personal growth, and the maturation of their volatile relationship over the course of nearly a decade

this is an old favorite!

The one where they compete as cooks. Seme works at French restaurant, uke at a japanese one that is owned by semes family. It was good.

That was so sweet. Loved it . Enjoyed the competitiveness that drive the relationship and respect for each other .

I needed a bit more clarification with Chishima's take on this whole thing and I wished the side story was prolonged some more. :/ Oh well. Aside from that, I really liked this manga and how passionate the main characters were with one another, despite their unending rivalry and competitive nature. Good job, author!!

The extensive search that the Mnagaka had conducted to formulate an informative, yet entertaining storyline that was exciting to follow. The Mangaka used her tools carefully to narrate a story of rivalry turned love-induced motivation for both characters to ensure that both of them can stand, shoulder -to-shoulder beside each other.

I like how the differing cuisine philosophies are explored within the relationship.
