Well, he certainly started off as an arrogant jerk, and seemed to despise women as well. He also had that god-awful "you know you want me and I'll just wait until you melt to my charms" syndrome that would make any woman of self respect go absolutely postal. Poor guy was also an idiot, as he seemed to be incapable of understanding that she had any self respect, meaning that he didn't see her as a person, just a pawn who happened to be a turn-on sexually for him.
