Story of several guys working in host clubs. Professional rivalry, mistaken identities, unrequited love, and jealousy test Shinkawa's and Takaaki's friendship on a semi-regular basis. But when Iwaki Kyousuke, Takaaki's old flame and mentor, returns to seduce Shinkawa away to a new host club, will Takaaki be able to persuade Shinkawa to stay, or will his devotion to Iwaki cause him to lose Shinkawa's partnership?
I didn’t know who to ship, my head was spinning!
For me Takaaki should have been with Iwaki. I only saw Shinkawa as a temporary side piece that would inadvertently help Iwaki gain character development and Shinkawa would end up with Kenzaki. smh. I spent all that time reading to be disappointed. Sorry author and others. This is my personal feelings. I'm sure there are many who are happy with the turn out. Congrats. Outside that, the storyline was ok but I love the whole male host bar concept. Thank you author for your energy.
When a Man Loves a Man series: 1) When a Man Loves a Man (1 Volume) Story of several guys working in host clubs. 2) Last Waltz (2 Volumes) At the end of When a Man Loves a Man, Shinkawa had rejected Iwaki's invitation to become the number one host at his new club. But now the rivalry between Schnapps and the Rusty Nail is heating up. Schnapps has hired a new host, Ishii, who is stealing all the other hosts' clients away. What could his motive be? Is Shinkawa right in suspecting that Ishii is somehow working for Iwaki? But when Shinkawa shares his suspicions with Takaaki, why is he so quick to defend Iwaki? How could he still love the guy that abandoned him to start his own club? How can Shinkawa make Takaaki look at him the way he looks at Iwaki? 3) Nightcap (1 Volume) Flashback showing how Takaaki and Iwaki met and then why the cruel Iwaki abandoned the kid after let him become bisex. Iwaki has been a gigolo for 8 years. When he meets Kato, a homeless kid sleeping against his car on the streets, his fancy is struck. When he finds that Kato is looking to become a gigolo, he gives him money to help him clean up to get the job, just because he's interested. Will he lose his love for women in exchange for his love for Kato? 4) Irokoi (3 Volumes) Follows the star-crossed love relationships of four hosts, Takaaki, Iwaki, Shinkawa and Kenzaki. Interesting story and well-developed characters, but you should probably read the preceeding three When a Man Loves a Man series to understand the backstory. 5) U:V (2 Volumes) The final arc of the series on the four hosts and their relationship. Iwaki introduced his nephew, Ozaki Kazuomi, to both Takaaki and Shinkawa; Takaaki is to train Kazuomi before being passed over to Shinkawa. However, Shinkawa still has doubts about Takaaki's feelings for Iwaki; has Takaaki really put his feelings for Iwaki behind him? What about Kenzaki, who has such love and passion for Shinkawa that he's willing to do anything for him?
re-read this intense drama manga again and always feel bad for Kenzaki. Knowing full well that nobody can control the feeling of love or not to love someone. Like Shingawa can never love Kenzaki back doesn't matter how much Kenzaki loves and devotes to him. Bad times, Shingawa get stucked with Kenzaki, good times, he went off to be with Taakaki. Meanwhile Taakaki got all serious love from Iwaki and Shingawa. Iwaki even got his engagement stand by to get cancelled all the time for Taakaki. Well, poor Kenzaki, but like I said, we can't force love.
The story was intriguing in facts their ups and down and the love twist of their love ,they had me riding on an emotional roller coaster, the enfin was too short but still a happy ending. I loved reading it
That made me cry, it was so realistic and so real!!!!!!! I loved it though. Ishii was hilarious and sweet. Iwaki was like a teacher all the way through, Kenzaki was truly sweet. Even though he was in pain, he chose to do the right thing!! Shinkawa and Taaka's relationship was complicated but in the end, they truly loved on another :'')
It's a great story. Sometimes you just want to read a light story, not alot of drama. Then other times you want to read something you can sink your teeth into. That is what this story is like it grabs your interest & holds it 'til the end...I enjoyed it immensely & will no doubt think about the story & characters occasionally as time goes by.
