This one was my fav out of the two other stories the author has. Like the ML himself is the embodiment of a puppy. I love the dynamic of the two together. Also the plot twist ( not really but I suspected) of them actually meeting prior… him resembling his first love.

So cute and beautiful. They even handled the end so maturely, without unnecessary drama :)

Ah so, the blonde didn't pursue him due to that gay bar card. He alrd did like the glasses dude way back then. I thought the friends is mean enough to act like the confession never happened, but it was the blonde who pick it up hahahah. I think the little bro did it right, if namwoo confession did picked up by the hyung, their friendship could be destroyed.

I saw the "plot twist" of Yeoreum being related to the man Namwoo liked coming a mile away, but the additional twist of Yeoreum being on the phone when Namwoo confessed, thinking he was talking to the guy he liked, gagged me bad.

But it leaves me thinking, did we really need that? It makes the story feel needlessly intertwined. Yeoreum secretly doting after Namwoo from childhood was a good enough twist that validated the story and his feelings.

Still, a good twist is a good twist. It doesn't ruin the story, so it's not egregiously bad, it just doesn't add to it really in any way.

I'm really conflicted about this BL though. Most of the story was really cute, and I liked seeing their relationship gradually build, but the issue I'm having is that I feel like the ending just isn't really earned. It's crushed. Their relationship doesn't feel real.

As I said, most of the story was really cute. I liked the set-up a lot; when Namwoo finds out the man he's liked since childhood is now engaged, it breaks him. He goes out to drink, and while drunk and entertaining his sorrow, he meets a stranger and ends up spewing his whole situation to him. As they get up they bump into each other, accidentally taking each other's books. The next day, it turns out the stranger is actually the new PE teacher at the school where Namwoo works. There's a little more to it, but that's the jist of it, and I think it's super fucking cute.

Straight from the jump, something is a little odd about Yeoreum. He's a little too eager to befriend Namwoo, he knows Namwoo a little too well. It's obvious he already has a crush on him so it's a question of why, and my natural assumption was that he'll probably end up being related to the guy Namwoo liked—and I was right. It's technically a plot twist but I found it to be such an easy thing to guess that it kind of didn't matter, but that works in the benefit of the character. It's endearing to read someone just completely and utterly head over heels in love with someone, and being able to pretty safely guess the context and backstory. The extra years of longing just sweetens it for me.

The issue I have though is Namwoo. He doesn't start the story already liking Yeoreum, he's deeply in love with another man. It was cute at first seeing them connect, bond, and see the way Namwoo gradually lets go of his old love . . . But it just happens way too quickly. It happens gradually until chapter five where suddenly they're full-force and he's asking Yeoreum to date him. But I don't believe it. At all. I don't believe he's gotten over the feelings he had for his friend whatsoever. It needed more chapters to space it out a bit and make the growth of these feelings happen a bit more slowly and organically.

The art was great though. I read another thing by this author and I loved the art there, so in general that seems to be a huge strength they have. The characters look distinct and unique, but still really attractive.

Another thing that was really good, to me at least, was the writing. Not the flow of the story or the plot, but the actual writing. The prose. There are so many quotes in this that really jumped out at me. This author writes with a certain sense of simplicity that cuts like a blade.
