Lowkey a bad take i think u should keep reading they are honestly playing each other and she has the control the whole time, especially towards the end where the last chapters are out. She’s using him and is dominating him like crazy lol but she is tough and takes care of herself its fine if she messes up atleast it gives room for a romantic scene ykwim

Whoa dude that’s unfair as fuck to say I’m not gonna lie. Sounds like you were expecting a “smart” mary sue of some sort. You want her to be a one dimensional idiot? Just say you hate when a character acts because of their flaws.

Let’s think for a second. She grew up strong but with an obvious inferiority complex. Stuff like that, once it’s developed, no matter how smart or strong you are a mental disorder can fuck that up. So yeah although his approaches were way too obvious, she was greedy over the fact that he could boost her powers. And idk what you’re saying about her lacking instincts because she did find it suspicious but she ignored it willingly (you can see when she does that) and then pushes the “national treasure” thing to actually anchor it because she wants him to remain “innocent” (you saw how happy she got when he got attacked/ it shows how important her pushing his “innocence” was to her). I doubt you gotta think too hard about that to see it. So obviously learning about his actual intentions she’s gonna react like ‘shit bro this is so messed up’ or something cause she fucked up but she has too much pride to blame herself so she’d rather aim the full force of that anger at him. I mean that’s literally just her personality, she’s clumsy, prideful, and strong. Acting like some cold calculating fool sort of completely goes against that persona. Instead she’s smart and consistently putting on a show for her own benefit. She calculates only things that actually give her a reason to put attention on them (like his suspicious behavior) which builds up and makes her act. She just needed evidence to erase her doubts. So although it took some time she still went looking for the evidence.

Just because she needs a little push to look past her greed and find out the truth, that doesn’t make her a dumb character. Shes not a psychopath or someone with a violent traumatic past (well I’m assuming from what we’ve seen so far), she only developed an inferiority complex and a prideful ego growing up because of her circumstances, so if you’re someone who just reads and expects the “fl” “ml” to be a certain way based on other stories you’ve read, you’re not gonna be able to enjoy one with unique and flawed dynamics.
