Other than than a ok story, not my fave, a bit havy read for me.

Fujimoto Hiroya is at the top of his class. He's the Student Council Vice President, spends all his time studying, and is the idol of all the "good girls". But the truth is, he'd trade it all just for the chance to be someone else... someone popular, outgoing and carefree... Someone like Masaki.

Masaki's what Fujimoto's friends would call an "idiot". He'd rather play soccer than study, almost never cracks a book, and is popular with all the "normal" kids. He's got flashy clothes, bleached hair and a reputation just as lousy as Fujimoto's is good.

In the summer of Fujimoto's freshman year of high school, he resolves to change his image and his life... all to make friends with Masaki. But can dyed hair, new clothes and a piercing really change a person inside?

A nice long read. Maybe a little overdone at parts but pales in comparison to the satisfaction of digging into characters. This is also only the 2nd BL I've read that has even mentioned AIDS, and in this one the author got into all the emotions from a real scare in depth. Respect!

I thought the story was okay but the characters need work, they are all annoying especially Anna and the other girl. The guy who was always in the way. I really wanted to see Kanae and Misaki's brother get together after he got stabbed but never did.

i liked the begging because the way the manga took in the society back then and sort of molded it into this manga was really enjoyable. But when it got near the end it started to feel very idk sunday nigh special? anyways i wish they could've kept the same vibe through out the whole thing but it just got a bit too much at the end.

You can tell it’s old by the way the characters are written. It’s a great example of how portraying realism in fiction doesn’t necessarily make the story more enjoyable. Both main characters come off as contradicting. Once character development is made, they always revert back to their old habits seconds later. The character development was the most interesting part, but it’s a shame it had to be downplayed by the constant homophobia.
