BDSM - a topic/subject I am not that knowledgeable about neither am I into it. No offense intended towards BDSM practitioners/fans but it's just not my thing. Consequently I avoid stories that have anything to do with it. BUT, I still ended up picking "Yoru wa Tomodachi" lured in by it's Outstanding Cover. I am weak to Beautiful Artwork just as well Stories and I am immensely glad that I did as This manga has Both. Yoru wa Tomodachi features, 2 seemingly normal boys sharing a twisted relationship of Dominance & Submission,on a more psychological level than physical. The latent Dominant gradually becoming fascinated with Bondage play while catering to the whims of his Submissive.What's most intriguing is the fact that,it's NOT the Dominant who's in control here,BUT the Submissive. Even though I have no knowledge in BDSM what so ever this story came to me as a portrayal & exploration of the very essence of it while showcasing Masumi & Tobita's distorted love story. After the 1st few chapters I was mentally prepared for a fairly twisted story with a tragic background behind Tobita's masochism. BUT to my pleasant surprise it tuned out pretty Sweet at the end. Ido Gihou meticulously NAILED each & every aspect of the complexity of Tobita & Masumi's relationship that kept deteriorating by Tobita's paradoxical character AND thriving by Masumi's love at the same time. Slow claps for sensei for such an exceptional BDSM Love Story. I will never see bondage in the same eyes as I did before. And a Huge Thanks for the Picture Perfect End! I couldn't have asked for a more Beautiful One.
Behind the timid looking and shy gesture of Tobita, people might think hat his innocent and weird to describe by his features is different from is his innermost character. Masochist by nature!, is a description for him that Masumi is slowly unveiling this character of Tobita that also awakens Masumi's other character. from S&M relationship turning to a serious one or a worst type of relationship that physical attribute is only to be satisfied? rate 4
Tobita likes bondage relationships, but he can never keep them going. Masumi is one of the people he dates. He falls in love with Masumi. They finally have normal sex, and they part ways for a while until they meet again. Tobita promised to wait for Masumi, but he caves in due to the lonliness.
It's not bad I think there is lot of meaning to it uke is masochist for no reason with normal life he lead so far he still has urge to be beaten and abused seme saved him and out of curiosity he started as a sadistic and carry on with uke's need probably for seme it was odd in the beginning that a guy who don't even talk to anyone in college can be so low to beaten for pleasure i sort of don't get the rating people gave this manga it's not bad , seme was scared of saying i love you to uke cuz last guy also loved him and uke left him he didn't wanted to lose what they had in present and uke conflicted hated himself for what he is and how he only think of himself when seme is also involved. When uke said i will wait for you if you want to treat me like dog i will let you according to you convinent it's also sounds like uke thinking of himself in this part made seme angered even though uke couldn't wait and see seme to end up with someone else so they end up in relationship good one though but that sex with succiors was making me worried if they cut themselves by mistake but it was sexy af.
a boy likes pain and only pain during sex. he meets a boy who saved him from his old partner and starts a new sex relationship with him... that turns emotionally painful as it goes on. and finally, a happy ending.
Like that there's a mutual understanding between the characters, especially in their circumstances. The ride was also slow but great dialogue really saved me. Never once acrossed in my head that the characters made a stupid decision.

Three and a half stars. Bondage but not smutty- about how feelings are conveyed and communication at its heart. Feels pretty real, a little wrenching in parts for different reasons. Really nice art.
Second best depiction of BDSM I've ever read! The mangaka is either a participant in BDSM or did some fantastic research. This is an accurate depiction of a relationship between a new S and an experienced M. Absolutely beautifully done.
Really enjoyed this manga. It was nice to get a BDSM story from the Dominant's POV. The submissive POV always has the disadvantage of portraying the Dom as some mysterious inflexible perfection, but I liked that the Dom spent so much time thinking of better ways to serve both their needs. Surprisingly, it was a subtly romantic story. I saw some comments that complained about some mistakes the Dom made, but honestly, that made it more real to me. I'm obviously not condoning that sort of thing, but these are young guys still finding their way. The art was lovely. My only complaint was that sometimes the dialogue was unclear, or I couldn't always tell who was supposed to be talking. Oh, and its personal preference, but I don't like BDSM outside of a sexual encounter, so I wasn't a huge fan of that little bit of crossover. But, overall an excellent yaoi manga.
it was an intresting manga but i kind of feelt sad about it( the manga) i can get the point of wanted to be hurt but evryone needs a little love too not only pain
I don't know whats about this writer, but is able to portray a warm calm sadness and nostalgia, it kinda almost makes you feel like wanting to fall in love, just to have something your hearth can break to and morn about
