reaction: a great story with so much mystery around it and an unexpected trans narrative, but the blatant sexualisation of tetsuo’s female body was too much at times… nonetheless, one of the best takes on trans people i’ve seen in manga so far

loved the partnership and lessons learned it hit me in the feels though (was it horrifying? was it traumatic? was it scientifically inaccurate? yes)

This was so insane in a weird way.

Really decent over all, first half is 5/5. cool art style, deals with several lgbtq themes in a mostly respectful way. Honestly, you don't see long running, lgbtq manga, with this much of an actual story very often. Definitely some questionable parts though like the gay character being interested in 'boys'. I dont think he was intended to be a pedo, but it came across that way sometimes.

But honestly, the constant fanservice art of Tetsuo was rly Weird, felt contradictory to the story, which treats him respectfuly for the most part. Just the authors personal preference or what??? Like it was just detrimental to the manga imo. Id be interested to know what the author was intending. Idk

The ending make it worth 5* . I'd like the story more if they don't sexualize Tetsuo too much . I think that was disrespectful since he hated his women body.

It's interesting but the author is clearly promotes pedophile and one charter is 1 dimensional making her gender her own personality

Just finished this manga and it really captivated me! I love mystery in general, but this story also had feelings in all forms and shapes and I was not ready for those. They were narrated beautifully, I can't get over how much I liked it. I've already recommended this story to lots of friends, it's a masterpiece!

this was increadible, the lgbt angle blended perfectly with the plot and was mostly* quite respectful and the author seems to have done some research in the topics they touch

the plot of the mystery itself was quite captivating and keeps you on your adge of your seat, it's great

*you know, apart for all the tetsuo fanservice... i just kinda had to block those moments out of my mind... and the fanservice is probably why he never seems to consider a mastectomy, considering they know about hormones, and the first mastectomy under general anesthesia was performed by a japanese doctor in 1804, so, you know...

haven't finished, but its nice seeing a trans man character. not sure if he's (or theyre) trans, though. i only ever see trans women represented in media, its kind of lonely to say the least. Ofc, they deserve the rep 1000%.

4/5

One of the main characters is a Trans man. His struggle is depicted in a way that rings true, but the series features a LOT of fetishized shots of his body.

it's the kind of story you'll want to read in one or two sittings—pretty good

Id give it a full 5 star if only the artist didn't draw tetsuo in fanservice poses when he clearly doesn't like being seen as a woman. Overall the story is interesting tho, got me binge reading it in two days. Also the art is really good!

I liked this story, and the representation is decent, but I wanna give a big, BIG disclaimer for trans men, generally AFAB gq, or any trans person who might project or identify with Tetsuo: you will be miserable
I had to read this over the course of a week and a half because I kept hitting roadblocks where I was just too miserable to keep reading; a handful of times I felt physically ill-- this is immensely triggering for dysphoria, so tread very lightly
there is targeted sexual harrassment, attempted murder hate crime on a gay man, transphobia, homophobia, mentions of sexual assault of a cis girl by her father, lots of death and murder, and making a trans male character dress femininely as well as him self-harming by putting his mental health in jeopardy trying to be feminine and force others to misgender him because he feels awful and wants to suffer idfk, there is also mentions of suicide, multiple mentions of dysphoria as well as vivid depictions of it, and a closeted bisexual man and a heteroflux trans man somehow being together?? it's kind of a fucking mess but I mean whatever
