I can't say it's a great story, nor do I think it has any greater messages or anything like. I pretty much started reading it just to see ML's scenes where people were salivating over on Twitter, and I had not expected much from it. But I was kinda surprised that I read something quite good.
The story surrounds just the main couple. And, besides the MC having a (mildly) good development, at least regarding his trauma and daring position to deal with his borderline PTSD while trying hard to keep his career. The ML, aside from his sad background, it's nothing more than a plain clichèd character of Yakuza stories; I'm not against cliches specially because we're reading mainstream stories mostly here, and these medias rely heavily on troupes and archetypes for the writing; nevertheless, I can't really just ignore how little underdeveloped the ML felt to me, maybe the manga was a way too short to give enough fodder to be worked on. Tenju could have been a richer and rounder character, considering his criminal activities.
But story surprised me a little, I fully expected to be a RomCom with shady Yakuza characters, but end up being a good short travel into a traumatized doctor's mind who used a mafia member as psychologist. The art is outrageously good, the textures and details were astounding, specially the few panels depiction of macroscopic scenarios, but also the anatomy, the placement of every page and the features the author chose for characters faces. Definitely a good story, it deserves a 4, because it gave what it promised.
A good catch.
Tbh this is such a breath of fresh air
