absolutely loved this. i read this once when i was younger, and i didnt fully understand its meaning, but now that im older; im able to. and i cried,, it's so beautiful, and despite what anyone says, i loved the ending. tragedies like tachibana's sometimes don't have a complete answer, but despite this life still goes on. his traumas still haunt him, probably until the day he dies, but he has grown and is continuously healing (*cries*) ... that's just how life is. and i loved seeing and understanding his character - ALL THE CHARACTERS, in this manga. Man, im so happy to have read this. all the characters are so real and with depth, ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE

I adore this greatly. Stories without main couples like this really pull at my heart strings. Yeah Yuusuke was gay but it didn’t super matter. His confession was important because it played into the long build up of plot for Tachibana.
I’m really glad I read this.

The main arc in my opinion has a really good storyline. Yoshinaga-sensei, in my opinion, was able to explore the bitterness of an unrequited love in a sweet way with the elaborate characters and back story of each characters. Unfortunately, if you're more of a visual person like me, this manga is a tough to read because, I swear to god, I felt like reading a novel; the manga are mostly text.
And if you haven't know, this manga had been adapted into TV series in Japan movie in 2001 and movie in 2008 in South Korea.
