This is meant to be a "bad ending". MC has just accepted what he's been put into, knowing that there is probably no escape. When we are forced into things we do not like, we still try to find some sort of joy in it. Even if that joy sucks. I thought this was a really good psychological horror

Not bad. It is by no means a typical relationship and the ending is sort of open ended but I think the way it is is explained perfectly by just remembering the title, "Formless". Everything from their feelings, to their relationship with each other and everyone else, and even the ending to the story are just sort of formless. I think the author did very well to show just how ambiguous it all was (which, I imagine, is not all that easy) the book was very consistent in that sense. I was gonna give it 3/5 stars purely from dissatisfaction with the end but, upon thinking on it further, I realized that the conclusion to this sort of grey area relationship could only end in the way it was written. In that respect, its done very realistically; which is probably why its so unsatisfying, because reality sucks. So for now, its a 4 out of 5 for me.

Idk I saw a bunch of people commenting they hated the ending but the ending was super cute and I liked it a lot. Maybe I’ve been reading too many ‘tragic ending’ manga but this felt refreshing. Now back to my regularly scheduled everyone dies or is permanently depressed by the end stories.
